A GREAT IDEA

Here are the results of a ‘one day ’commission I did recently plus a couple of other sketches to show variation. I think this it is a wonderful way to celebrate and become comfortable (lets face it, most of us are not) with our bodies.

10 minute sketch (top left) on A2

I initially met with the client to discuss the process and the most appropriate location

For my part, I have seen so many naked bodies of all different shapes and sizes that I have no awkwardness and as my client commented ‘I feel relaxed because you are so relaxed’.

I actually think the nude, tall, short, slim, curvy, voluptuous, you name it, is one of the most beautiful subject matters in the world to draw.

Most of these pencil sketches took twenty minutes each on A3 paper, so they are a nice size to have framed. The top left 10 minute sketch is on A2

Another couple of examples of a different model

Just to elaborate a little further, the client and I first discussed various poses to consider. Once she saw the results of the first sketch all her fears faded. As you can see the images are tasteful and have grace.
I think this is great gift to give to your wife, girlfriend or boyfriend. It’s a really charming idea. Why not have your own personal nude of yourself? And it is very affordable so please do give me a call if you are interested.

This male model I sketched in Florence which I love because of its sensuality.

A final twenty minute sketch
from the commission day

This charcoal is on toned sienna paper which is a fully worked up drawing executed in the traditional sight size method and took a whole lot longer!

Latest commission

I have just finished this portrait of little Lucy. You can see her sister Zoe on my main gallery pages. I am now working on the creation of Adam! Will keep you posted but in the meantime do scroll down to see a couple of my landscapes.

Lovely Florence in Tuscany. I am off for another visit again in April.
